Informational Series: An Introduction
It’s National Novel Writing Month. I’ve been saying for like 6 or 7 years now that I want to write an autistic book. I don’t plan to write a novel, but a nonfiction for parents. To do that, I’m going to write blogs as much as I have energy for this month as a basis for the book. It won’t be the full chapters, but a starting point to write them.
This series is going to be for parents of newly diagnosed autistic children. It will be looking at pre-diagnosis, post diagnosis, therapy/early intervention, and language/neurodiversity. I hope to make it as simple as possible since it’s directed to parents who are likely being exposed to these concepts for the first time.
Why am I doing this? Well, as much as I have been wanting to write this book, it’s more because I keep meeting more new parents. I want new parents to have a resource that isn’t full of damaging language. Maybe I can actually provide that.
Also, if you’d like to see anything specific addressed, please let me know. I have several posts I want to do, but hope to have time for specific needs.
